Supporting you at tribunal
It’s important that you are aware of the extent of your investment in the bringing or defending of a claim at tribunal. The flowchart on the right describes the process. Our fees are set out below.
Your time
A judge sets the length of the hearing (after input from both parties). A number of factors will influence the judge’s decision, such as:
- The number of witnesses
- The amount of evidence presented
- Whether the claim is made by a number of people
- The complexity of the law involved
Beyond the hearing obviously there’s giving us your instructions, creating the tribunal bundle, drafting the witness statements and preparing for the hearing.
Our fees
Tribunal claims for unfair or wrongful dismissal vary depending on the length of the hearing. The following provides a guide to our fees (assuming we attend on the day).
Simple: £7,500 – £10,000(+vat) – from a half day to two day hearing
Medium: £11,500 – £15,000(+vat) – between three and five day hearing
High: £1,500 per day above £15,000(+vat) – longer than five day hearing
Disbursements
We are likely to incur costs on your behalf throughout the tribunal process (disbursements). They might be tribunal fees, barrister’s costs and travel expenses.
Barrister’s fees can range from £1000 – £1500(+vat) depending on experience (but this will be offset against the fees outlined above).
Estimates
The fees mentioned above are estimates. They are for guidance and should not be relied upon. We will not start any work for you until we have set out and agreed the fees and disbursements involved.
